horoscopes, cheese and a royal affair

My horoscope for today (I’m a Scorpio) read:

You may welcome an exciting diversion to your daily routine today, but your responsibilities could suffer in the process. Surprisingly, you’ll probably say yes to an invitation that comes your way, even if you don’t think that you can take the time to play. Naturally, meeting your obligations remains a high priority, but your overall quality of work won’t be as good if you don’t also give yourself the chance to relax.

Haha. I suppose my diversion today was the royal wedding! I camped out at April and Jeremy’s last night (almost literally, I got to sleep in a tent, inside of course, too fun!!!) and then got up at about 2:53 AM to watch all things royal wedding. April made scones while I kept watch for anything important on the tube. Around 3:30 we went upstairs to her neighbor’s condo, had orange drink and champagne, and indulged on the freshly baked scones and real clotted cream!!! The cream was amazing, REALLY amazing, but quickly served to remind me I have a lactose sensitivity that I can’t ignore for much longer and I really need to quit the dairy once and for all. For those of you who know me, you know what a tragic decision that would be for me. For those of you who don’t know about my affection for cheese, click here. (That is a very common sight in my fridge.)

Anyway. I had a wonderful time gushing over the royals early early early this morning, but I’m paying for it now as I worked until 6:30 (on a Friday, that’s horrific) and I have to go back in tomorrow. And Sunday.

I’m a little overly tired . . . really my whole point of the post is that I must be in a severe minority of people who did not care for Kate’s wedding dress. I thought the solid looking fabric was really heavy on her and I was really disappointed to not see lots of flouncing tulle.

That’s all.

A screaming, overly tired toddler was just carried down the hall . . . poor fellow, he sounds about like how I feel right now. That’s the sign I need to call it a night.

  1. Clotted cream? yum

  2. I wasn’t too into the whole affair but just wanted to see a little out of curiosity and I had my issues with the whole thing as well. I agree with you and was not a fan of Cate’s (shouldn’t it be Kate since she’s Katherine?) dress. I thought it was heavy and too victorian. AND allowing her sister to wear white as well was just a mistake. That’s all I can think of for now…
